Getting to know Persefoni: Meet Matt Miller

Article Overview

1. And you may ask yourself, "Well... how did I get here?" (Tell us your journey?)

I grew up in Arizona and got my Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing from Arizona State University. From there, I started at Insight Enterprises, which is where I met our co-founder and CEO, Kentaro Kawamori. I spent the early part of my career helping drive the Red Hat business, interacting with customers, developing go-to-market strategies, and providing licensing and product knowledge. I then moved into a field sales role where I traveled to meet with customers, hosted customer events, and helped run the entire west region for the company’s Red Hat business. I also helped develop the sales enablement and GTM strategy for our Azure Managed Services business. I am ecstatic to now find myself here at Persefoni where our mission to enable every organization and person with the technology to positively impact the health of planet Earth is one that I am truly passionate about!

2. And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile. (What do you do at Persefoni?)

I am a Customer Success Manager. The job title does a great job describing my role: managing the success of our customers. I help our customers with onboarding and configuration, provide ongoing training and support, and communicate feature releases. I also help voice customers’ feature requests back to the product development team. It is extremely rewarding to be a part of our customers’ carbon management journey. In addition, I speak with prospective customers about their carbon management strategies and how Persefoni can make an impact.

3. And you may ask yourself, "Where does that highway go to?" (What are your hopes for your time at Persefoni?)

Climate change is something that impacts the entire world and every living thing – it cannot be ignored. The clock is ticking, and we must act NOW or it will be too late. My hope is that the world comes together to address the climate crisis before the point of no return. We all must be accountable for our actions and their consequences. I am thrilled and honored to be a part of something that is so much greater than myself!

4. And you may say to yourself, "My God! What have I done?" (Why is Persefoni a great home for you?)

I am beyond excited to be a part of a company that I feel will literally help change the world. I am so fortunate to be surrounded by teammates (more like family members) that are committed to making a difference in this world. Everyone is eager to learn, help, collaborate, and deliver results. We help each other grow while working hard towards a common goal – improve the health of planet Earth. How could I not want to be a part of this?!

5. And you may find yourself in another part of the world... (Tell us about your life/hobbies away from work?)

I am recently engaged to my beautiful fiancée, Nicole. We are currently planning our wedding and just moved into our new house! We love to travel, hangout with friends and family, go out to eat, and watch movies on the couch with our dog, Stella. On a weekly basis, I enjoy participating in bowling and/or softball leagues with my friends and I am a very big gamer. I fell in love with the competitive nature of video games at a very young age. I have made a lot of friends through them, and it is a great way to stay in touch with friends that are in different parts of the world.
