Getting to know Persefoni: Meet Nathan Wasserman

1. And you may ask yourself, "Well... how did I get here?" (Tell us your journey?)

Aviation was my first love and I had a great first career in that field, however I fell for sustainability in 2017 and haven't looked back. While working at Boeing I took Masters classes in the evening, including one was called Industry and the Environment. The reading assignments in that course rocked my world. Since then I've been working in sustainability ever since.

How I ended up at Persefoni is a funnier story. I run a podcast called The Net Zero Life and one of my podcast partners is Brendan Anderson, the founder of Climate People. Brendan posted a Persefoni job on Twitter that I happened to see, which is surprising because I rarely use Twitter, and just a few weeks later I accepted an offer to join the Persefoni rocketship.

2. And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile. (What do you do at Persefoni?)

I am our Director of Carbon & Climate Solutions here at Persefoni. I support large enterprises and financial institutions measure, manage, and then act on their carbon footprint. When not with Persefoni customers, I like to leverage my network for business development or spend time with our product team helping to build our latest innovations.

3. And you may ask yourself, "Where does that highway go to?" (What are your hopes for your time at Persefoni?

I'm relentlessly focused on helping move the world closer to net zero emissions and that is exactly what I hope to do at Persefoni. I want to help organizations align their business models with a net zero and sustainable world.

4. And you may say to yourself, "My God! What have I done?" (Why is Persefoni a great home for you?)

There are so many great sustainability experts at Persefoni and I love learning from all of them. The team here has a real opportunity to shape the strategy of companies that represent our economy, both large and small, and we don't take that for granted.

5. And you may find yourself in another part of the world... (Tell us about your life/hobbies away from work?)

When I'm not at work I'm likely eating or working out so I can eat later! I also love community building (major extrovert over here). In short, I've got a lot of energy and love to find unique ways to use it.
