SMBC + Persefoni Jointly Support Decarbonization Journeys
Since the adoption of the “Paris Agreement” in 2015, measures to combat climate change have accelerated worldwide. In October 2020, the Japanese government announced it would strive to achieve a decarbonized society by declaring "2050 Carbon Neutral", which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2050.
As part of this decision, companies are being compelled to take measures to decarbonize - and SMBC is there to help customers and the market.
SMBC has developed and begun offering a cloud service called Sustana that visualizes corporate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. As a partner for this service, SMBC researched the marketplace and selected Persefoni. Together, we have begun providing services to customers.
