Getting to know Persefoni: Meet Toshihiro Kurashina

1. And you may ask yourself, "Well... how did I get here?" (Tell us your journey?)

After graduation, I worked on moving the hearts and minds of consumers in the world of marketing communications and technology for over 10 years. In particular, my exposure to the latest technology was one of the primary triggers for my current work. I was born into a rice farming family in one of the heaviest snowfall areas in Japan (more than 10ft of snow every year). In such an environment, I was exposed to the threats of nature for many years and I could enjoy the benefits of nature as well. Because of such a lifestyle, I may have subconsciously been concerned and interested in the environment since I was a child. When I was introduced to Persefoni, I felt that some of the dots that shaped me were connected.

2. And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile. (What do you do at Persefoni?)

As an account director, I am in charge of developing and executing Go-To-Market strategies for the Japan market, especially making proposals to potential customers and building solid relationships with business partners. I also support and conduct marketing activities such as conference and exhibition participation, presentations, as well as PR activities, and working with overseas members to handle a wide range of functions related to customer enablement and other elements of Japanese market development. My mission is to develop the necessary procedures and systems for the Japanese market through repeated dialogue with customers and partners and provide solutions that meet each customer. We hope that this will speed up each company's efforts towards carbon neutrality and make the earth a better place as soon as possible.

3. And you may ask yourself, "Where does that highway go to?" (What are your hopes for your time at Persefoni?

I hope that every person living on the earth will become a little more aware of the environment of the planet we live on. There are still very few people who know that global warming has a considerable impact not only on ecosystems and nature, but also on the economy. Through my activities, I hope that as many people as possible will become interested in environmental issues and take some action for the future of our children.

4. And you may say to yourself, "My God! What have I done?" (Why is Persefoni a great home for you?)

People! People! and People! Persefoni is filled with highly talented, kind, and caring people. They reach out and help anyone who is in need. And I am always inspired by people with various specialties. The best thing is that everyone is aware of the four principles listed in the Operating Principles, and we are always open and ready to improve each other.

5. And you may find yourself in another part of the world... (Tell us about your life/hobbies away from work?)

As I told you at the beginning, I love nature, so I have been enjoying outdoor activities such as rock climbing, snowboarding, camping, and snorkeling. In the past, I used to do something every week, but these days I also enjoy walking around the town and playing in the park with my cutest 1-year-old daughter and my almost 2-year-old small Samoyed. I also love to travel abroad. I love to experience the people, culture, history, nature, and food of different countries, and I have visited many countries dozens of times so far. But I've never been to South America and Africa, so I'd love to go there if I have the chance. If you have any recommendations, please let me know!
