1. And you may ask yourself, "Well... how did I get here?" (Tell us your journey?)

For more than 20 years, I had the privilege to work for the same Fortune 500 company in the technology space. During those years, I spent time in many different divisions (operations, marketing, procurement, etc.), but timing was on my side when I met Kentaro for lunch one day. Passion is compelling, and Kentaro radiates passion when he speaks of his vision for Persefoni. I had been craving an opportunity like this; to work alongside talented people doing great things. I’m thrilled to use my many years of industry experience to help nurture the growth Persefoni is already experiencing. Persefoni is making this world a better place for all of us, and I’m really grateful to be part of this new journey.

2. And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile. (What do you do at Persefoni?)

I work alongside Jason (COO & Co-founder) as the Director of Business Operations. Our team is responsible for organizing and overseeing the operations of the company. As Persefoni grows quickly, it is our job to ensure that the business is well-coordinated and productive, which we do by managing company procedures through the ever-moving parts and pieces of the business. My personal goal is to automate redundant processes so we free up our employees such that they can focus on the more important parts of their job.

3. And you may ask yourself, "Where does that highway go to?" (What are your hopes for your time at Persefoni?)

My previous company was challenging, as it faced 30+ years of ancient procedures and processes engrained deep into its infrastructure. Change was painful and often met with stubborn “old school” ways of thinking. At Persefoni, I’m excited to use my skills/experience to make an impact I can see quickly and be in a position where I can grow and work toward a goal I really care about. I am lucky to start with a company that is fresh, with a great culture, and that encourages out-of-the-box thinking. I hope to build a thoughtful foundation and one day leave a legacy that continues to encourage fresh new ideas and ways to approach problems.

4. And you may say to yourself, "My God! What have I done?" (Why is Persefoni a great home for you?)

Persefoni’s culture was introduced to me early into the interview process, which became one of the biggest attractors to the company. Many companies like to talk about their Operating Principles, but it’s something you both see and feel when you visit with anyone who works for Persefoni. The founders have created – and nurture – a culture that prioritizes individual development, both professional and personal, by continuing to embrace the individual factors that make each employee unique. This approach has created a more inclusive environment where people can be open and honest with their feedback and recommendations. In fact, that’s Operating Principle #2 (of 4): “GIVE AND RECEIVE OPEN, HONEST, & DIRECT FEEDBACK CONSTANTLY.”

5. And you may find yourself in another part of the world... (Tell us about your life/hobbies away from work?)

I have been married to my wife for almost 12 years, and we have three amazing children. My wife is smart and quickly discovered that buying me tools for various celebrations usually results in me doing a DIY project she has dreamed up. I have always enjoyed creating and repurposing things with my hands; making things with my hands leaves me with an incredible feeling of accomplishment and is a powerful way to clear my mind from all the distractions this world offers up. I enjoy the amazement in my family’s eyes when they see a project rise from a pile of scraps into something useful and customized to their needs. They appreciate the furniture, and I love that my children are seeing a world outside of what is sitting in a furniture store. I have made some beautiful things and some dreadfully ugly things; my life is better because I have made both.
