Ida rocks the Big Easy
The impacts of climate change continue to be felt across the world. This week, Hurricane Ida became a dangerous ‘category 4’ storm in just a few hours, leaving less time for the residents of New Orleans to get out of harm's way. As the storm made landfall, there was massive damage across a wide area that will cost billions of dollars and take many months to repair. The Daily podcast from the New York Times covered the economic disparities revealed in the aftermath of the storm—summed up well by the Warren Buffet quote: “Only when the tide goes out do you discover who's been swimming naked.”
